Reflective Loge and communicative Skills

Reflective Log:

This course has been very helpful to me, when I first started this course, I was shy to stand in front of the class and give a presentation, but now with all this effort I put in this course and the help of my teacher, I’m now able to stand in front of many people and give a presentation about any subject. It also helped me to manage my work by establishing a suitable meeting with clear agendas. All these experience allowed me to be more confident in front of any audience and also improved my English skills.
Body gestures and clear voice were some of the most important things that were improved about my presentation in this course.

Communicative Skills:
Confidence, time management, English and presentation skills were the most important skills I have improved myself in. giving a good presentation in front of a big audience makes me feel good and proud from what I achieved.
Job Interviews, meeting and lectures are some of the places I could use the new skills I have learned would be job. Also I could use it in everyday life.
My biggest challenges in formal communications were how to start the presentation and how to let my body gestures meet the requirement of the subject.
More practice would help me to improve my presentation skills in order to achieve my goal to be a good presenter. Attending more presentations and see how other present and learn from them would also help me improve mine.

Formal Presentation Report

On the 22nd of May I attended a presentation in T005 by Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ali (H00161056) at 14:20
Abdulaziz was discussing the human pollution and how it’s affecting the marine life.
It was long presentation which took about 8 minutes. During the presentation, Abdulaziz voice was so clear and hearable. Also he managed to keep an excellent eye contact with the audience, which made them feel interesting about the subject.
It seems that he learned so much about presentation skills He got experienced in this area by accepting the comments and tries to improve his skill. There is a big improvement between this presentation and the previous one. He managed to cover everything in this presentation.
Overall, Abdulaziz was a quite good presenter. Despite the long time he took to present, everything else was excellent, especially the story he mentioned at the beginning of his presentation.
Finally, I’d like to thanks Mr. Abdulaziz for his interesting presentation, and I hope his message will spread around the world, and people will start to save our ocean.

Semi-Formal Presentation

On April 24th, my class mates and I gave a presentation. we were a group of five students. Ahmed Sayed, H001, Abdulaziz, H002, Farris Alshamsi, H003, Muaath, H004, inculding me, Abdulla Saif, H005. this presentation was held in class room W115 at 13:15, in Abudhabi Mens College.
The topic of the presentation was about the difference between Safari and Windows 8. Each student talked between 3 to 7 minutes. During the presentation almost all students had good eye contact with the class room. Ahmed Sayed presented both the introduction and the conclusion, he was so confident and his voice was quite strong that everyone in the class could hear very clearly. He also had excellent movements by pointing his hand to the slides showing on the board just like Abdulaziz did, who had  a good sense of hummer.
On the other hand, Farries and Muaath weren't very good at presenting of the class room. They were little afraid and just stood still. Further, they need more practicein giving presentation and also they need to work hard on thier English skills.
The presentation was very good. It explained almost everything about the topic and the class room reacted well and seemed to be interested.
In conclusion, I think the presentation we gave was very good overall. The topic was interesting, well prepared and well organized. However, there were some areas that need to concentrated on like English skills, vocabulary and the pronunciation.

My role

TC group had a meeting about the college life on the 17th of March 2011. It was held in room W113 at Abudhabi Men's College. We were a group of 5, a Cheerleader, Note taker and three attendees.
As a cheerleader, I called for this meeting to discuss about the college life and to come up with some motive solutions that would help our students to achieve their goals. Meeting started at 16:00 and finished within 20 minutes. We tried to put some ideas and see different opinions. Mainly, my role was to ask what the members think about this issue and listen to them. They were prepared well and came up with some good solutions that might help our college to be a successful one in the area.
When the meeting was over, i asked the note taker to send our suggestions and ideas to the academic serves manager. Finally the meeting was useful and went well, all members were participating in a wise way and useful way. After all we met our objectives by finding suitable ideas which hopefully will be implemented soon Then, I asked for another meeting, which will be held on 27th of March 2011 for farther discussions.

Meeting report:
Today’s meeting was held at 16:00 and concluded at 16:20 on the 17th of March 2011. The ADMC Room W113 was the location for this forum. All principle members were present to include the Chair/Lead Mr. Abdulla Al Homoudi, Minutes Keeper: Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ali and fellow board members Mr. Ahmed Sayed, Mr. Fares Al Shamsi, and Mr. Moaath. The major topics of this discussion were the effects of College Life on our young students who are away from home. During our discussion our first issue was how to keep students from getting bored while staying at the ADMC. We came up with several ways to help the students in this area; one way would be by going out on picnics and having more sporting events which would help build togetherness and strong friendship bonds. Our second issue was that some students felt homesick. We also came up with several good ideas to help students overcome this feeling which were; Volunteering in elderly homes. Make building accommodations friendlier. Third on our agenda was the lack of motivation; We realized that by making starting community groups the students would be able to get involved in many different activities away from the ADMC. Last on our list was finding a way to help build relationships between students and getting them to bond as a team. We agreed that by welcoming new personnel with a party when they arrive would help get over nervousness and to relax new personnel, we also added that by competing in sports as teams this would help grow the bonds of friendship and teamwork we are after. In addition our ideas and suggestions will be sent to the student academic service manager Mr. Khalid Abdullah next meeting will be held on 27th of March 2011 if there is any delay or information regarding the meeting all members will receive an email with all the details. Finally the meeting was useful and went well, all members were participating in a wise way and useful way. After all we met our objectives by finding suitable ideas which hopefully will be implemented soon.
